I'm Marcel Borgstijn, an autonomous photographer from The Netherlands. I like to work on long-term photo projects.

Usually I am pretty sure what the project will be about and how it evolves in time. In the recent past, I have completed beautiful projects that have received several awards and accolades.

But lately, my motivation had disappeared a bit. When there was no pressure from a project, it all became a bit more difficult. Just shooting images disappeared into the background. The pleasure of shooting became less. That can't be the point, can it?

That is why I came up with the idea of this project:
A quest for the why of my photography
